Where is Natchez?
Natchez is located in the southwest corner of Mississippi at the crossroads of two major highways and one scenic historical national parkway.

U.S. Highway 61 and U.S. Highway 84 cross at Natchez and take travelers to Interstate Highways 55, 49, and 20 (depending on your route). Also. U.S. 84 joins U.S. Highway 98 eastbound only a short distance from Natchez.

Where is the Natchez Trace Parkway?
The Natchez Trace Parkway vertically dissects the States of Mississippi from the northeast, connecting Natchez to Nashville, TN Ė about 450 miles away at the northern terminus.

How big is Natchez?
Natchez is the only municipality in Adams County, Mississippi with an approximate population of 20,000. The countywide population is around 35,000.
What is the weather like in Natchez ?
Itís no secret that springtime is perhaps the mildest and most pleasant time in Natchez, especially April and May. However, we truly do enjoy a mild year-around climate.

Fairly abundant rainfall helps to create the lush vegetation visitors enjoy as they travel through the area. Natchez natives keep a light raincoat and an umbrella handy and we advise our visitors to do the same.

Is there an airport in Natchez?
The Natchez-Adams Airport is a world-class facility with a 6,500-foot runway, able to host landings of planes up to Boeing 737's or DC 9's. A mechanic is on duty, and fuel is available. For more information, call the airport at 601.442.5171. Airport transfer service is available from the airport to local destinations by calling 601.445.5291.

Does the Natchez Airport have commercial service?
No, Natchez has no commercial service into its airport, but is within convenient distance of five cities with excellent service.

Can I travel to Natchez by bus?
Yes. Delta Bus Lines has a terminal at 103 Lower Woodville Road in Natchez. To contact the company about its routes and fares, call 601.445.5291.

Can I travel to Natchez by train?
Amtrak trains stop in Mississippi and Louisiana at several cities not far from Natchez. Those Amtrak cities include Brookhaven, MS (60 miles from Natchez), Jackson, MS (105 miles from Natchez), and New Orleans, LA (170 miles from Natchez). Check with your travel agent or call Amtrak at 800.872.7245.

Can I take a riverboat cruise to Natchez?

Does Natchez have convention facilities?
Yes, we have a state-of-the-art convention center located in the heart of downtown Natchez. Our convention center boasts an 18,000 square foot exhibition hall, 7,122 square feet of meeting rooms, and 6,940 square feet of pre-function areas, all supported by a full service kitchen.

The lighting in the exhibit hall, referred to as The Trace Room when fully opened, is a mixture of high-pressure sodium and metal halide. Incandescent lighting is also available which is dimmable to create lighting effects for a variety of event requirements.

Some other important features of the center are:

Are there any childrenís activities and attractions in Natchez?
Yes, there are many things for families with children to do and see in Natchez. Southern Belle ghost stories, horse drawn carriage rides, hot-air balloon rides, bowling, cookouts, swimming, and touring the Grand Village of The Natchez Indians are just a few of the things children enjoy doing in Natchez.
