Location: Mount Locust Historic Inn

Multi State - Period re-enactors and living history demonstrators will present programs at the Natchez Trace Parkway’s Mount Locust Historic Inn (located at Parkway milepost 15 near Natchez, Mississippi) from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011.

In addition to the scheduled events listed below, the public is invited to watch pioneer lifestyle demonstrations that include frontier cooking and period toys.

Scheduled Events:
2:00 p.m. – Primitive Technology
3:00 p.m. – Tomahawk Throwing
4:00 p.m. – Stories of the Natchez Trace Outlaws

Tours of the historic Mount Locust Inn, grounds, and the family and slave cemeteries will also be given.

Period lodges (tents) used by the frontiersmen for shelter during the years 1790-1810 will be erected on the grounds for visitors to view from the afternoon of October 28 through the afternoon of October 29.

These programs are free to the public.
