Feb/20/2015 - Feb/22/2015
Location: Harrisonburg, LA

In 1863 Fort Beauregard’s cannon fire repelled an attack by four Union gunboats as they ascended the Ouachita River in an attempt to reach Monroe, LA. The gunboats ultimately withdrew with the USS Arizona crippled and the USS Pittsburgh receiving damage. Four months later federal forces stationed in Natchez, MS marched overland to ultimately take the fort.

Camps will reopen to the public at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22 followed by a 10:00 a.m. worship service and another reenactment of the Battle of Fort Beauregard at 2:00 p.m.
